CREATIVE PRACTITIONERS REQUIRED TO SUPPORT THE DELIVERY OF THEIR CREATIVE LEARNING PROGRAMME

Lea Manor High School Change School Project
Lea Manor High School, Luton and Creative Partnerships wish to contract creative practitioners to support the delivery of their creative learning programme.
Deadline for submission: 5pm, Thursday 7th January 2010
The background
Between January and June 2010, Lea Manor will be working in partnership with staff, young people and creative practitioners to produce inspiring learning activities that relate to the development objectives of the school and Creative Partnerships.
The brief
Aims of the programme:
⢠To explore and promote student voice and involvement in personalised learning and curriculum planning.
⢠To develop staff understanding of creativity and how to promote and implement it in the classroom.
The programme will be focused on year 7 students and staff. We would be interested in hearing from practitioners who want to explore creativity beyond the traditional âartsâ subjects.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
⢠A high standard in your current creative practice
⢠The value of your creative practice to the creative learning programme
⢠Experience OR An ability to take creative risks and experiment with new creative approaches and encourage and enable others to do the same
⢠Experience OR An ability to work collaboratively with young people and others to develop the programme, which will be delivered to a wider student group
⢠Excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to liaise with school staff and other creative partners and partnership organisations
⢠Experience OR An ability to reflect and revise and encourage and enable others to do the same
⢠Experience OR ability to deliver a collaborative CPD programme with staff.

Young people may be involved in the recruitment process so please consider this in the wording of your application. It would also be interesting and useful to see or hear examples of your work so please send us any images, CDs, DVDs etc.

Enhanced CRB disclosure and public liability insurance
Contractual information
The programme will run from January to June 2010 and practitioners will be paid a daily rate of £200 (inclusive of vat, travel and expenses) for a minimum of 10 days and could be up to 30 days, including familiarisation, planning, project delivery and reflection and evaluation.
The programme will be delivered through a mixture of full and half day sessions in school â exact dates to be planned. Sessions will take place in term time only.

Creative Partnerships is the governmentâs flagship creative learning programme, designed to develop the skills of children and young people across England, raising their aspirations, achievements, skills and life chances. The UK Centre for Carnival Arts
The UKCCA provides an exciting, pioneering and creative space for Carnival Arts to take root, to grow and to raise its status. Carnival encompasses creativity, culture and community. It has the potential to bring people together and bring about lasting change. The centre is a space where carnival artists and audiences can gather; where learning can take place; where skills and stories can be shared.
The UKCCA Learning and Participation Department offers a vibrant, innovative and varied education and skills programme which caters to the specific needs of the local community at all stages of education, engagement, age and ability. The UKCCA has a proven track record in the successful delivery of education and community projects, and has won funding to deliver the Creative Partnerships programme in 32 schools in Luton and Bedford.
