BACKGROUND

ENQUIRY SCHOOL PROJECT
Norton Road Primary School and Creative Partnerships wish to contract a Creative Partner with a background in drama and/or music:-
 To support the delivery of their enquiry school project.
 To work in partnership with staff and young people to produce inspiring learning activities that relate to the development objectives of the school and Creative Partnerships.

The brief
Norton Road Primary School is entering a new phase as we strive to raise standards and meet the needs of our changing community; we are reconsidering how and what we are teaching. During the last 2-years, our pupil profile has changed considerably that we now have a very diverse intake, including children from socially deprived areas and with many children from different cultures, some with relatively little English language development.

Recognising the fundamental importance of having a curriculum that is responsive to the needs of our pupils and engaging with our community, we have began to address this challenge by evaluating our teaching styles and know that our pupils respond best to a dynamic, language enriched curriculum which fully engages them in their learning whilst being flexible enough to provide the nurturing and first hand experiences that they may not have had outside of school.
The Enquiry Question:
How can we make our children inquisitive, creative and independent writers through music and drama?
You will be working with Year 5, two classes of 30 pupils, 2 teachers and 1 SEN teacher, this year group has a very high percentage of boys.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Young people will be involved in the recruitment process so please consider this when applying. We encourage creative responses to this brief and would be happy to view video or digital images online (via YouTube or Flickr for example), or to accept PowerPoint slide shows or any other medium you would like to use. We are particularly interested in seeing evidence of your creative work with young people.
Please be succinct and feel free to signpost us to evidence where possible.
