OPPORTUNITY AT QUEENS PARK LOWER SCHOOL

Borough Council

23rd November 2009

Queen’s Park Lower School, Bedford and Creative Partnerships wish to contract a creative partner to support the delivery of their creative learning programme.

Deadline for expressions of interest:  3pm Friday 11 December

From February to June 2010, Queen’s Park Lower School will be working in partnership with staff, young people and creative partners to produce inspiring learning activities that relate to the development objectives of the school and Creative Partnerships.   Specifically, we want to explore how we might use our school grounds more for outdoor learning in the early years stage, perhaps aligned with a Forest School ethos.

Queen’s Park Lower School
Queens Park Lower School is a large lower school based on two sites, one of which is devoted to Early Years.  There are around 160 children in nursery and reception and we have a site that offers stacks of potential for enhancing our children’s play opportunities and offering them bigger challenges and adventures outside.  We are keen to develop their talk and their creativity.  Most of the children have English as an additional language, the majority of the children are from Pakistani or Bangladeshi heritage backgrounds but increasingly a wider diversity of children are represented in our school population.  We are especially keen to focus on the natural environment and natural materials to encourage child-initiated learning and story-making as well as increasing their confidence to take risks both emotionally and physically in a safe environment.
Our school website can be found at www.qpls.co.uk
