WANTED - DRAMA PRACTITIONER, STORYTELLER OR MAKER

Cauldwell Lower School, Bedford and Creative Partnerships wish to contract a Drama practitioner, Storyteller or Maker to support the delivery of their creative learning programme.
Deadline for submission: 5pm Tuesday December 1st 2009
Cauldwell Lower School in Bedford is working in partnership with UKCCA* as an Enquiry school. The project will run from January to June 2010.
We are looking for a creative practitioner who can work in partnership with staff and young people to produce inspiring learning activities that relate to the development objectives of Creative Partnerships & the school.
The Brief:
Cauldwell Lower School is a lively and energetic school (reception to year 4) set in the heart of Bedford Town. Children from all over the world are represented at the school and 26 different languages are spoken. We cater for and have high expectations of all our learners and realise that effective communication is essential to progression and understanding and that this is not always easy.
We are looking for a Drama practitioner, Storyteller, or Maker who is interested in planning and facilitating an Enquiry School project along side the teachers & children to develop and deliver an exciting creative project that will aid our understanding of and communication with our learners & address the question “How can a creative project provide a snap shot of a child’s personal identity to scaffold future learning and aid communication?â€

Selection Criteria :
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
• A high standard in your current creative practice
• The value of your creative practice to the creative learning programme
• An ability to take creative risks and experiment with new creative approaches and encourage and enable others to do the same
• An ability to work collaboratively with young people and others to develop a project that can be used in the future to address the same kinds of issues.
• An understanding of the process of reflection and evaluation and the ability to encourage others to do the same.
Essential requirements
A current CRB check and Public Liability insurance certificate.
Contractual information
The programme will run from January – June 2010. The daily contract fee is £200 (inclusive of VAT travel & expenses) and covers planning, project delivery, reflection & evaluation for a maximum of 15 days. The programme will be delivered through a mixture of full and half day sessions in school – exact dates and times tbc. Sessions will take place in term time only.
