Goldington Green Lower School enquiry project
Goldington Green Lower School in Bedford wishes to contract up to two Creative Practitioners to support the delivery of their creative learning programme.
Deadline for submission: 5pm on Friday 27th Nov. 2009
Goldington Green Lower School in Bedford is working in partnership with UKCCA as an ‘inquiry school’ for creative partnerships. The programme will take place between Jan and June 2010.
We are looking for a creative practitioner/s who can work in partnership with staff, young people and parents to produce inspiring learning activities that relate to the development objectives of Creative Partnerships and those of the school –particularly around making learning relevant, student motivation and parental engagement.
The brief
The aim of the programme is to engage with children and parents using a variety of creative practice with a particular emphasis on ‘carnival arts’.
The school is interested in using the ‘carnival arts’ to develop team building and parental participation, initially with year 2 pupils, with the aim that the creative activities will have a cascade effect on the rest of the school during art week May 2010. We want to see if pupil disengagement can be changed through developing more collaboration with parents, other practitioners and the local community.
We are looking for inspirational practitioners who can help the school develop an engaging carnival programme and create large collaborative structures, masks, costumes or puppets which provide learning for parents, staff and children together.
The school is particularly interested in working with practitioners who can work closely with staff and children and with other practitioners which the school is already using, to plan, develop and lead the delivery of this exciting creative learning programme.
The Enquiry Question:
“Why do some children disengage and fail to meet their full potential?â€
