Professional Experience
Jane started storytelling over 13 years ago whilst working for a community wildlife project, she has found it to be a fun and effective way to communicate with a wide variety of people.
Jane has told stories in schools, parks, libraries, museums, nature reserves and village halls; for local authorities, conservation charities and community groups. She has recently been involved in Creative Partnership projects.
In the past, Jane has been in full-time employment with Beds County Council, the Wildlife Trust and English Nature. For the last 11 years Jane has worked as a freelance storyteller and environmental educator.
Between September 2007 and March 2008, Jane was employed by the Wildlife Trust to write and deliver a primary school education programme at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve, Huntingdonshire; a cross-curricular, child-centred learning adventure - "Wild Journeys of People and Wildlife".
Jane has received "Forest School" training through Bridgwater College and has attended numerous storytelling workshop and training events.
Jane is one of the founder members of Fibs & Fables Bedfordshire's storytelling club and sometimes works in collaboration with other storytellers and musicians.

Jane can be booked to tell a mixed bag of stories, themed tales or stories linked to local wildlife or history. With her love and knowledge of the countryside and wildlife and her experience in environmental education, Jane particularly enjoys telling stories to celebrate wildspaces.Jane can also be booked to design and deliver events and programmes that combine storytelling with environmental games and activities.
