Professional Experience

My interest lies in social, religious and political issues, therefore I use my art to raise awareness and questions regarding particular subjects. My family background inspires a lot of my work, and a great deal of it is concerned with essentially ‘irish’ themes as a result of being exposed to issues raised in the irish media. The foundation of my work is fact, and is the result of a great deal of research. This is essential in tackling the themes I choose to in order to do the issue justice. The majority of my work is presented through video, as I believe it is the best medium to portray my ideas. Film has a great impact- it makes people sit up and take notice, demanding their attention and this is something I need to happen if my work is to have the desired effect.
